Dave Huffman decisively won last night’s debate at the Lycova Grange. Dave emphasized that his campaign is not about him. Rather, Dave’s campaign is about fighting for the conservative values of
Lycoming
County. Dave stressed the importance of the value and tradition of citizens owning their own home, as opposed to leasing it from the government under the current property tax system. Dave read from the Pennsylvania Constitution, and reminded the audience that the 2005 midnight pay raise was illegal. Dave pledged not to accept a state pension if he is elected Representative for the 83rd district. This pledge is just one of the ideas Dave proposed to cut
Harrisburg spending. Dave reinforced that he is the only candidate to have a track record of voting against tax increases, and reminded the audience that opponent Rebecca Burke voted for a 56% tax increase in 2004 while Lycoming County Commissioner, a fact on the public record.
